Love and a Hot Glue Gun

Missed out on winning the Valentine’s Day card I gave away on my Facebook page over the weekend? Never fear. Today I’m back with instructions on how to make your own.

You may remember my Fa La La card from last Christmas using hot glue words coloured with Blendabilties. This card uses the same technique. Simply heat up your hot glue gun and then ‘write’ love (or whatever word you like) onto your silicone mat. The silicone mat is essential so that you can later peel it off once it has cooled. Once cooled, choose your favourite Blendabilities colour and just colour the glue. You may have to do a couple of coats or go to a darker shade if you want more depth of colour. In the example above, I used the darkest shade of Cherry Cobbler and coloured both the top and the underside.

This card also features some watercoloured vellum with a Crumb Cake heart showing through. Then it is simply accessorised with a variety of ribbons and the (normally) Very Vanilla Vintage buttons which I also coloured with my blendies to match. Are those blendies versatile or what? And even better, they’re free with a $90 order until the end of March – woohoo!
