Fa La La and a (temporary) Farewell

I’m back for the final instalment of the CASEing the Catty challenge for 2014. It’s been great fun and to finish it all off, we’re not really CASEing at all! This fortnight’s challenge is a colour challenge based on the Santa & Co. Designer Washi Tape in the holiday catalogue. The colours to use are Basic Black, Marina Mist, Old Olive and Real Red. Hmmm, not really my favourite collection of colours for Christmas. Time to think outside the box…

… yep, not so much stamping.

I love mixing things up and ever since I saw Jane Lee create some hot glue words on one of last year’s Artisan blog hops, I knew I had to try it someday. So here they are. Just heat up your glue gun and start writing straight onto your Silicone Craft Sheet. Once the glue has set and cooled, they’ll just peel straight off the silicone. Now they’re ready to colour. I used Cherry Cobbler blendabilities. OK, I know the challenge uses Real Red but because there are 3 shades of Cherry blendies, you can choose the lighter shades to pull off a Real Red. WIN!

In the end, I actually did CASE a card layout from the holiday catalogue (the Christmas Cheer card on page 14 for those playing along).

I hope you play along with us one last time in 2014. Check out the inspiration at www.caseingthecatty.blogspot.com.au. I can’t wait to see what the rest of the design team came up with in these colours.

  1. I hadn’t seen the hot glue gun words technique used before, but it looks amazing on this card. One of the things I think are so great with the blendabilities is the ability to use the pens to match more than just their set colour.
