Cards for Christmas… and CASEing the Catty

This week at CASEing the Catty Challenges, the theme is ‘cards from the Holiday Catalogue’. Simply choose a favourite card project sample and copy! It was a no brainer for me to CASE this card as the Four Feathers stamp set and framelits were the very first thing I ordered from the catalogue. I love how this card showcases the feathers using different papers and techniques. First I used a striped designer series paper – the sample project used strips of washi tape but I didn’t have that particular tape so used what I had. The second uses glimmer paper – so sparkly. Lastly, the third feather is embossed with Pool Party embossing powder. Simply lay your feather along the edge of your Versamark pad, sprinkle with embossing powder and heat. You may need to repeat two or three times to get a super smooth, even coverage.

The other trick I used was to emboss my Vanilla button with Gold embossing powder. I didn’t have any gold buttons so again I improvised. Simply cover the button with Versamark ink, dunk your button into the gold powder and heat.
