Oh Snap!

Welcome to the first of many posts on Christmas projects for 2014. Yes, it’s my favourite time of year for many reasons including the best time of year to create. My Christmas creating started early this year when I put together some projects to display at my annual Christmas open house event. First up is a Christmas cracker. Did you know that you can create crackers with the Envelope Punch Board? Well now you do. That tool is seriously one of the most versatile tools around and for just $31.95, it’s probably the best value – I digress, but I just think everyone should have one!

I’ve used one of my favourite colour combos on this one – Kraft, Whisper White, Pool Party and Real Red. Too cute! I used the new 12″ x 12″ Kraft cardstock for the base and wrapped Pool Party cardstock around the belly and ends. The Pool Party is stamped and embossed with white snowflakes from the Endless Wishes stamp set. The tiny scallops on the ends of the cracker are from the Dotted Scallop Ribbon border punch. I love using only the very edge of that punch for the cutest scallops around! It is embellished with the startburst wooden element and a little Oh Snap! banner, created with Pool Party embossing powder for extra shine and pop. Some Real Red cotton ribbon bows finish it all off.

This project is truly a combination of some of my favourite things. I hope I’ve inspired you to create your own beautiful, personalised crackers this Christmas.
