Creating for Friends… while I’m CASEing the Catty

After a small hiatus, I’m back for another week of CASEingthecatty.blogspot.com.au. This week, we’re CASEing the Card Giving section which is just huge with so many samples to choose from. This week my projects were also used at a recent workshop which was based around the Little Letters Framelits. I wanted to showcase their versatility so ended up making four cards, each with a different twist on the original sample.

The closest to the catty sample (page 125 South Pacific Catalogue) is the card on the bottom left. It features window sheets and confetti, making it a shaker card. I then made some similar cards using the ‘confetti’ designer series paper sheet from the Gold Soiree pack (top left) and also some strips of coordinating washi tape from the Sweet Sadie and Watercolour Wonder packs (bottom right). The card on the top right was inspired by fellow demo Rachel van Rij who demonstrated this technique at our annual convention in May. I’d been dying to try it ever since. The rest of the card was cased from page 124 of the catty. Do I get double points??

Now when one has a coordinating collection of cards, one has to make a coordinating gift box, right? My gift box was inspired by Teneale Williams and used one of the Tag a Bag gift boxes. A bit of slicing and dicing the acetate sleeve results in a ‘lid’ for the cards. Too cute.

I had a happy accident (love those) while making this where the letters didn’t actually fall out of the thicker kraft box like they do with cardstock so I left them in for another different technique with the Little Letters Framelits.

And here they all are together..
