Hey There faux watercolour

I’ve been enjoying seeing watercolour projects everywhere lately. There are some beautiful stamp sets in the Occasions Catalogue, not to mention the Watercolour Wonder DSP, but what if that’s still on your wishlist? Stampin’ Up! recently published a video tutorial on Creating Watercolour Backgrounds Using Your Clear Block which was so easy, I immediately had to have a go. In short, you colour a clear block with whatever colour markers your little heart desires, spritz with water and then stamp it down onto some cardstock. I used Elegant Eggplant, Wisteria Wonder and Marina Mist markers on Whisper White cardstock. The results are always different and I love that!

This technique became the background of my latest workshop which also featured a couple of alternative uses for the Scallop Tag Topper Punch. The punch was used as a closure for the card and a cute little box which we filled with speckled Easter eggs. I got a little bit artsy with my card elements and just took them all along with a few different stamp sets. The result was that everyone had different ideas and put theirs together differently. I love when people let their creativity flow and don’t feel they need to copy the sample exactly.
