You can take any sort of inspiration from my card above and create your own project. It might be the layout, colour palette (Night of Navy, Pool Party + Watermelon Wonder or similar), balloon/party/birthday theme.

I decided to focus on the layout as I had some shiny new products to use from the upcoming Occasions Catalogue (starts 4 Jan). I began with some Watercolor Paper and dampened it a little where I planned to stamp. I then took my flower stamps and used the rock and roll technique to ink them up. Before I stamped, I spritzed each with a little water to make the colours run together on the rubber. Once I was happy with the amount of blending, I stamped them onto my wet paper where they ran even further. Once the flowers were stamped, I stamped some leaves as well and tapped my paintbrush to give some splatter.

Once dry, I added some die cuts over the top of my ink. I love that the die cuts give the flowers a defined edge but there’s still that element of artsy, mess underneath.

Stampin' Up Special Reason stamp set + Stylish Stems Framelits for #GDP068

I mounted the card on a piece of Pool Party (seriously this colour goes with EVERYTHING) which I had stamped with the stripes from the Ready to Pop stamp set (a much underrated set). To finish, I added a bow, a tiny little tag and some Sprinkles, which are quite possible my new favourite product!

Note: SALE-A-BRATION starts in just 2 sleeps! Grab this stamp set + framelit bundle in wood-mount (my favourite) and automatically qualify for a free product! I’ve seen all the freebies available and I haven’t been this excited about SAB in years! You’re gonna love it! Check back on 4 Jan for all the details!

Now be sure to check out the rest of the design team inspiration for this week’s Global Design Project challenge.

  1. I can’t talk right now about how stunningly gorgeous your card is because I’m still passed out on the floor. LOL Man alive girlfriend – this card is amazing. Just when I thought I didn’t need those Framelits! 😉
    Happy New Year lovely. xo

  2. Oh wow Jess, your CASE of yourself is one stunning card. The colors are so vibrant. I know orange and pink can really pop together in the right setting and you sure proved that. I tend to stick with a base card in white or a color pulled from the rest of the design, and you just blended it right in. Again, WOW!
Thank you for your lovely comment on my blog as well. Made my day.
