Artisan Design Team Blog Hop – More Thoughtful Branches

The Artisan Design Team is back to bring you even more inspiration featuring the beautiful new bundle, Thoughtful Branches.

Thoughtful Branches is now available to purchase from your Stampin’ Up! demonstrator and you’ll want to get this limited time bundle before it’s gone. If you earned any coupons during the July Bonus Days promotion, the Thoughtful Branches bundle is a great choice to use them on.

Because demonstrators were able to pre-order the bundle last month, there are dozens and dozens of beautiful samples now floating around on the Internet. A great place to see many of them is here on Pinterest. I love to use products in imaginative ways and here are the cards I came up with for this special blog hop.

My first card features some of the gorgeous ribbons that Stampin’ Up! offer. I started by cutting out the trunk and branch shape and wanted it to be fairly strong so I cut another 3 shapes and glued them together with Tombow Multipurpose Adhesive. Once that was dry and sturdy, I started to tie short lengths of ribbon around the branches. Using a variety of colours and ribbon textures creates such interest and the end result is a super tactile leafy tree.

I placed my tree on a simple watercoloured background and added a sweet button to finish it off.

My second card came about by happy accident, as many projects do. As I was die-cutting the trees for my first card, I just happened to lay the shape on top of the By The Shore DSP pack that I had nearby for another project. A lightbulb lit up above my head and I suddenly knew what my second card would look like.

Isn’t the tree just perfect for coral? I really love how this underwater scene came together and it was so easy. I simply used the By The Shore DSP for the background, added my coral/tree die-cuts and fussy cut a selection of fish from the DSP. The life-preserver was easy to create with circle framelits of punches and some baker’s twine.

  1. My goodness, these two cards are beyond amazing! I love the idea of a ribbon tree – if I start making some of these now, maybe I can use up my ribbon “collection” in…I don’t know, maybe 30 years?! Wonderful inspiration.

  2. LOVE your creations, especially the Under the Sea. We used to have salt water tanks so this is a marvelous idea for a hubby card! thank you for sharing!

  5. Awesome cards. Particularly love the underwater card….. Seaside Shore is my fave stamp set at the moment so when my Thoughtful Branches stamp set arrives (it’s taking ages) I would love to case your card if that is OK? Of course full credit to you will be given. Cheers Donna Z 🙂
