The Stamp Review Crew features Papillon Potpourri

It’s great to be hopping with The Stamp Review Crew again! This week we are showcasing an old favourite, Papillon Potpourri. I think this set, along with its matching punches, must be one of the most popular stamp sets in the catalogue.

I tried to create a sample a little different to any I had seen so I jumped straight to my trusty watercolour. I also decided to add some drama with a long skinny card so to start, I trimmed some watercolour paper to size and then splashed on some water. I started dabbing on some Crushed Curry and then added one of my new favourites Flirty Flamingo. I wanted some more vibrancy so I ended up adding some Rose Red on top. I added a few little flicks of the paintbrush to create some splatter and then waited for the ink to dry.

I had a basic idea in my head of how I wanted it to look but I ended up experimenting with a few different papers, stamps and colours before I ended up with my finished project.

I hope you’ve been inspired to dust off this set and give it another inking. It really is a fun and pretty stamp set. For more inspiration, keep on hopping to visit the wonderfully talented Kelly Kent.

  1. Your card is striking, Jessica. Love the bright watercoloring layered with the vellum! The black butterfly really stands out there and butterflies do that!! 🙂
