It’s My Party at… CASEing the Catty

ctc_header

It must be Sunday because I’m back with another round of CASEing the Catty. This week, we’ve scoured pages 3-7 of the Occasions Catalogue,  starting with the It’s My Party suite, to find amazing projects to Copy And Share.

I love the colours in this It’s My Party suite and the accessories are so cute. The 5-pack of washi tape was first on my order from this catalogue so I chose a cute project that features it…

Now I love the tiny treat boxes featured here but I also have a sweet niece who is having a birthday in a couple of days so I thought I’d change the design a little bit and wrap her gifts.

Stampin' Up! It's My Party suite I gift wrap and packaging ideas using washi tape and baker's twine

First, I grabbed some kraft coloured wrapping paper to mimic the treat boxes. Instead of using the It’s My Party paper (which I have earmarked for another project) I created my own bellyband strip using some Whisper White cardstock and stamps from the Sunburst Sayings stamp set.

Next, I adhered strips of washi tape to a length of vellum. The vellum helps by making the washi sturdier as well as taking away the ‘stick’, both of which would have made fringing the length rather frustrating. It’s also reletively clear so it doesn’t take away anything from the washi tape design.

Some cute twine, pegs and stamped flags finished off the gifts.

its_my_party_sharesLove the look but don’t need 48 sheets (yes, 48 sheets) of It’s My Party paper? Check out my share packs where you can buy just a portion of a pack AND it also includes some It’s My Party accessories too!

  1. I’m glad of the tip to stick washi to vellum too, always looking for new ways to actually use it, instead of stockpiling! They are the cutest little packages you’ve put together, the Kraft paper really shows up the lovely bright colours.

  2. Love this packaging – I’m always looking for interesting ways to wrap little gifts – these are so cute! That vellum fringe is gorgeous and great idea to use stamps to make your own “DSP”!

  3. What a supoer clever packaging idea Jess. Love the way you have combined the bright and colourful paper with the raft coloured paper. It sure does make your project ‘POP’! The washi ruffles are ingenious and I may just have to give that technique a try. Thanks for sharing <3
