Welcome to the Stamp Review Crew blog hop. This week we’re celebrating the Jingle all the Way stamp set. This set also has some coordinating edgelits and this bundle was absolutely on my MUST HAVE list from the Holiday Catalogue.
I have to admit I have used the edgelits a little more than the stamp set so this was quite a challenge. In the end I went with an idea I’ve had for a while using both the edgelits and stamp set.
The house edgelits have always reminded me of the tiny ‘Who’ houses in How the Grinch Stole Christmas by Dr. Seuss. So I cut some out for a little village. I found the page in the book that I wanted to emulate and created my background. It’s almost at the end of the book where the Whos wake up and discover empty houses but they’re joyful all the same and sing together as they’ve always done on Christmas morning.
I started with Soft Sky cardstock and sponged on some Marina Mist. I used the ‘sun’ stamp from Kinda Eclectic to depict the dawning sun and added little snowflakes from the Jingle all the Way stamp set. I then added some music notes from the same set rising from the village.
My next step was to use my alphabet rotary stamp to stamp the words but I realised I didn’t quite have enough room. So I decided to go a little digi and print the words straight onto my background card. This way I could make them a bit smaller and not take away from the overall scene.
To finish off, I made another background and added the rest of my story on the inside.
I hope you’ve enjoyed my project today. For more Jingle all the Way fun, please visit Nancy Smith.
