I love my mum… and CASEing the catty

It’s CASEing the Catty blog hop time again! This week we’re showcasing some projects CASEd from the Mother’s Day section of the Occasions Catalogue. I found this week a little challenging as there are only 3 projects to choose from! I haven’t bought any of the related stamp sets either but that always makes things just a little more interesting.

I try not to buy gifts for Mother’s Day and I prefer my little ones to make me something. I think it’s all about investing your efforts into creating something that shows you appreciate and love someone, whether that is craft, baking, gardening etc. Frankly one of the best presents I can get is when I don’t have to cook dinner! So I went about decorating a notebook. I used the design from the card below and changed up just about everything except the sketch.

Untitled-1

I started with my favourite piece of DSP from the All Abloom paper stack and used those colours to dictate the rest. I used a strip of Pistachio Pudding washi tape down the spine side of the notebook and then added a Mossy Meadow ribbon. I wanted to personalise the notebook and used the Sophisticated Serifs monogram letter J with the hostess set Hello There decorative circle frame stamp.

A simple but useful gift that I created myself.

Now pop on over to see what the lovely Nikki Sadler has created!

Happy Mother’s Day!
